This lesson combines our passion for teaching personalised and individual ski experiences with our determination to look after the environment that brings us so much joy. Passing on knowledge of the local environment and actions we can take to preserve its beauty in this fast-changing world. 

Along the way, we hope to facilitate an open discussion on ways to look at the impact we are having and discover ways to reduce our individual and collective carbon footprints from the small actions we can take to the mighty! 

All profits go to Montagne Verte an environmental non-profit in Morzine spearheading a low-carbon future in the mountains. This lesson is supported by Voqa, making EV charging effortless.

About Montagne Verte

In early 2019, Barbara De Moubray rallied together a small group of friends with a mission to engage the community of Morzine in reducing plastic consumption. In March 2019 Montagne Verte came to life, and work began organising community events and developing an online presence to raise awareness. At the same time Governments around the world were declaring climate and ecological emergencies and it became clear that Montagne Verte needed to go beyond plastic and beyond the parameters of Morzine.

• Develop route planning, decision making and lead sections
• Explore the fantastic Portes du Soleil 
• Learn some navigation tricks

The clinics are delivered throughout the season, usually running from 0900 till 1600 / 1700 with up-to 8 per instructor. Guests should have a good level of fitness and be comfortable skiing red and black runs. Off-piste experience not essential. 

Guests will require ski touring equipment: 

• Good layering of light weight clothing for snowy environments
• Avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe
• Ski touring skis, bindings, skins and ski crampons
• A back pack of around 30L

We're passionate about experiencing adventures with our clients. No matter how big or small! Our half-day touring clinics are perfect for someone who's just starting out with ski touring. It's a jam packed half-day giving you a solid understanding of the basic principles around ski touring and a deep dive into the practical application of touring and navigation. 

Here's some of the clinic content: 

• Develop ski touring technique, flat, steep and turning
• Learn mountain navigation 
• Develop climbing with ski crampons, using kick turns and managing exposed slopes
• Understand avalanche safety, terrain traps, reading the mountain and action planning
• Develop route planning, decision making and lead sections
• Explore the fantastic Portes du Soleil 

The half-day clinics are delivered throughout the season, usually running from 0900 till 1300 or 1200 till 1600 with up-to 8 per instructor. Guests should have a good level of fitness and be comfortable skiing red and black runs. Off-piste experience not essential.

• Avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe
• Ski touring skis, bindings, skins and ski crampons

Ski guiding from our PEAK instructors. This is best served at the start of your holiday. We will orientate you around the ski area, show you some special slopes, give you local knowledge to the lift system and take you to the best lunch and après spots.

If anyone in the group needs some tips or help finding their ski legs we’ve got that covered too, you’ll be guided by a fully qualified instructor holding the prestigious Level 4 International ski teachers diploma with full French equivalence.

We can take up-to 8 per instructor

You will meet your PEAK instructor at a pre-arranged meeting point depending on current conditions and ski tour to a summit and take in the views of the Alps at sunset. You will then be guided down before last light just in time for dinner.
