We're passionate about experiencing adventures with our clients. No matter how big or small! Our half-day touring clinics are perfect for someone who's just starting out with ski touring. It's a jam packed half-day giving you a solid understanding of the basic principles around ski touring and a deep dive into the practical application of touring and navigation.
Here's some of the clinic content:
- Develop ski touring technique, flat, steep and turning
- Learn mountain navigation
- Develop climbing with ski crampons, using kick turns and managing exposed slopes
- Understand avalanche safety, terrain traps, reading the mountain and action planning
- Develop route planning, decision making and lead sections
- Explore the fantastic Portes du Soleil
The half-day clinics are delivered throughout the season, usually running from 0900 till 1300 or 1200 till 1600 with up-to 8 per instructor. Guests should have a good level of fitness and be comfortable skiing red and black runs. Off-piste experience not essential.
Guests will require ski touring equipment:
- Good layering of lightweight clothing for snowy environments
- Avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe
- Ski touring skis, bindings, skins and ski crampons
- A back pack of around 30L
